365 Days of Prayer: November 3-9, 2025

11/1/2025

November 3, 2025
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)
Creating God, today we recognize One Health Day, where we think about global health issues, collaborating, innovating solutions and sustainable practices to improve well-being around the world. Grant us the tools and resources to be able to bring advancements to our communities. And may we be open to trying new systems and techniques in hopes of making everyone well. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 4, 2025
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
Inspiring God, today is the election in the USA. We pray for voters and those who are running for leadership. Be in the tools that mark the ballots, in the people who count them, and the results. May all go well and the people’s voices be heard. God, may we hold our friends to the south heavy in our prayers as we wait to see what comes next for them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 5, 2025
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Today is Guy Fawkes Day and some places around the world are celebrating with campfires and friends. God, today we ask you to be in us and around us as we live out all our days. May our systems of belief cause good and dispel evil. May we find ways to correct things that harmed others. Grant us open minds and souls as we figure out how to be the best we can be in our world today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 6, 2025
I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants – but let them not turn to folly. (Psalm 85:8)
Loving God, today is Let’s Stop Shouting Day around the world. Grant us permission to shout the good things from the mountaintops, but quiet us down and soften our hearts where we might be shouting in anger. And for those we shout out because they just can’t hear us, may they visit an audiologist and get some hearing aids. Just kidding God, but I do pray we hear each other with respect and dignity all our days. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 7, 2025
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
Comforting God, today is Hug a Bear day and I pray that we have a bear we can hug or someone who is like a teddy bear to us. God, thank you for the gift of a hug that can calm our darkest fears, that can settle our hearts in sorrow, and that can help us rest in the chaos. May we always have someone around that we can hug, if we are huggers. And God, may I offer more hugs to friends and family when I see them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 8, 2025
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families, and it’s World Town Planning Day. I wonder what children would envision for a town. I wonder what things they would include or get rid of. I wonder what things would be on their list of priorities. God, may we invite young people into our conversations when we’re doing any planning for today or for tomorrow. May we open our minds to their ideas and try something new. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 9, 2025
No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (1 John 2:23)
Today is Remembrance Sunday and we think of all who served in our local communities. We give thanks for their courage and their service, for their sacrifice and for their families. God, grant us hearts that will always remember them and time to set aside to learn more about them if we don’t know much. May we strive for a peace-filled world today and all our days to come. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: October 27 to November 2, 2025

10/26/2025

October 27, 2025
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! (Romans 5:17)
Creating God, today we pray for the mentors in our lives and for those we mentor along our journey. Help us to be patient and kind, mindful of the changing world and open to opportunities that may arise. Help our mentored to find their path of light you guide them along and may they find their way. May we be always work in your love and light. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 28, 2025
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
Ever-Present God, today we pray for all First Responders who respond to your call of service and sacrifice. May they have all the tools needed to do their work well. Grant them hearts and minds that are skilled and compassionate. May the politics of the work they do never come in the way of helping others. Help us to remember that without them, our communities would be very different places. Keep them safe. Grant them rest. And may they feel our love and gratitude surround them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 29, 2025
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15)
Caring God, today we pray for ourselves and all around us. We pray that everyone has the care and support they need to journey through whatever phase of life they’re in. Help to give us strength and time to help others as we can, as we are the best caregivers – people who know each other as friends and neighbours. May we create a strong sense of community, keeping us in tune with our neighbours, our friends, our families, and you, O God. Be with us and within us all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 30, 2025
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” (1 Peter 3:14)
Uplifting God, we pray that we are the kind of people and community who lifts others up in our world. When we see others struggle, may we offer a smile or a word of encouragement. May we be present with a sense of positivity, or empathetic as we feel the situation calls for. God, help us to journey through our world, not so worried about someone doing something wrong, but more focused on shining light where darkness looms. May we be beacons of your love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 31, 2025
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)
Playful God, as our communities celebrate Halloween, keep them safe. May those who are driving be very mindful of the dark and of the little ones who are too excited to remember safety guidelines. Be with families who have to try to put children to sleep after a night of candy and fun. For those who don’t like Halloween, may they find time for themselves and their friends and do something good for their souls. Help to always keep us playful God, as our world can be super stressful. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 1, 2025
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord
will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” (Exodus 14:13)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families and pray that the candy hangovers don’t create moody littles today. We pray that the fun of Halloween still lives in their hearts and that everyone was rewarded with a little rest. On the first of the month, we also pray for elements of Truth & Reconciliation, and so we think of our Indigenous brothers and sisters and pray they also had fun this Halloween. Keep us connected as we learn and grow together. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

November 2, 2025
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)
God of all, we celebrate All Souls Day today as we remember all our ancestors who have passed away. I pray for my ancestors and all those who brought us to Canada. I give thanks for the hardships they endured so that I can have the opportunities in today’s world. Though we are not without our challenges, I am grateful that they paved a way of goodness and that we learn from the things that were harmful too. Grant in us open hearts and minds, as we give thanks for their lives and stories that carry on in us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: October 20-26, 2025

10/19/2025

October 20, 2025
Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands (Psalm 112:1)
Creating God, today we recognize Information Overload Day, living in a world overflowing with voices, screens, news, and endless messages. Calm our anxious minds. Help us to pause and breathe. Remind us to listen for your voice. Help us to discern the truth and what really matters. Give us courage to set the world aside and to enjoy the peace, stillness, and quiet that is around us. Keep us forever focused on you and your love for all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 21, 2025
The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. (Deuteronomy 28:9)
God of all, we celebrate Dwali with our friends and neighbours. As lamps are lit and homes are brightened, we give thanks for the gift of hope that shines in every heart. Erase the darkness of fear, greed, and hatred and fill us with your love, joy, and peace. May this season of Dwali inspire us, reminding us that even the smallest light can overcome great darkness. Guide us to carry your light into our families, our communities, and our world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 22, 2025
And may your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time. (1 Kings 8:61)
Maker of all beautiful things, you have created the sun and the sky and set the heavens in perfect order. As light floods the temple at Abu Simbel today (in Egypt), remind us how your light reaches every corner of creation. Inspire us as we honour the human achievement that has created the temple and how things align just right. Ignite the light in our hearts to scatter the shadows of fear and doubt. As the light aligns to highlight the beauty of the temples, may we be aligned for your purpose and truth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 23, 2025
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)
Loving God, today we pray for event planners and organizers. Many do these things in our work and in our communities and are often the unsung heroes. We pray that their passion and dedication to doing good work and in creating memorable moments is nurtured and encouraged. May networking and connections continue to grow strong so the work can be easier. We give thanks to all who plan events in the church and pray that all who come our way feel the spirit of hospitality, community, and blessing in all their days. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 24, 2025
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Comforting God, today is World Development Information Day and we pray for all the challenges experienced around the world. We pray for communities experiencing poverty, inequality, and who can’t access education. We pray for our friends experiencing homelessness and mental health illnesses and who can’t access what they need. We pray for governments with integrity and values, for leaders who are visionaries and risk-takers, and for communities that can see beyond their own needs to help others.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 25, 2025
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families and on the 25th of each month we pray for those who have died and those who miss them. God, for our families, friends, pets, and relationships, be with us. May we continue to connect and seek one another out to bring meaning into our lives, especially after a loss of any kind. We pray for our children and their families who are missing loved ones, and pray they continue to share memories and lessons learned from those who have passed. God be with us all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 26, 2025
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)
God of the world, today is Austrian National Day and we celebrate with our brothers and sisters. It’s a day where an Austria adopted the Federal Constitutional Law on the Neutrality of Austria. They decided it won’t be involved in any military alliances and won’t allow any military bases to be established there. They also celebrate their re-establishment of sovereignty after WWII. Help us to learn more about our neighbours and friends and their histories.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: October 13-19, 2025

10/10/2025

October 13, 2025
Our Redeemer – The Lord Almighty is his name – is the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 47:4)
O Holy One, on this Thanksgiving Monday, we take time to give thanks for all the good things in our lives. Thank you for health, friends, family, and the changes in the seasons. Thank you for shelter, food, and clean water.  Help us to provide all these things, as we are able, to our neighbours in need. We give thanks to farmers and all who provide food. And God, thanks for Chocolate! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 14, 2025
You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. (2 Samuel 22:29)
God, today is World Standards Day, where we recognize and celebrate some of the things that have been standardized so we can work together well, all over the world. Where the world seeks power, help us seek service. Where the world values wealth, help us treasure kindness. Where the world promotes fear, help us walk in faith. Guide us to live by your standards of love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 15, 2025
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Psalm 8:3-4)
Today, O God, we focus on personal and community dignity. On this Global Dignity Day, help us define what dignity means for us.  Teach us to honour one another with respect. Help us to lift up the forgotten. Guide us to walk in the way of love and justice. May we grant each of your children the dignity they deserve. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 16, 2025
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Haggai 2:6-7)
Loving God, thank you for the values that guide our lives. We give thanks for the Ten Commandments that give us good rules to live by. Help us to choose kindness over cruelty, truth over falsehood, and compassion over indifference. May our words and actions today reflect the love of Christ in all we do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 17, 2025
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
God of mercy, today is Child Poverty Day and we think of all who live without the basic necessities of life. For families who are without food, safety, care, shelter, or clothing, may we hear their pleas. Help us to be a community where we do our best to ensure no one is without. Guide us in discovering ways to end poverty, and help us to see ways we can support each other in our neighbourhoods. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 18, 2025
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God. (Psalm 42:11)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. Today is International Repair Day and we think of all the things around us that may need fixing. First, we give thanks for the skills and tools that help us to repair things.  We also give thanks that we have things to repair.  But God, I think we need to pray not just for the objects and tools that need our help, but for our communities, families, and relationships. Help us imagine renewal. Help us to address brokenness. May we help provide hope. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 19, 2025
For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. (2 Peter 1:16)
Creating God, today we pray as it’s Evaluate Your Life Day. Help us to reflect on our accomplishments and the things we thought we might have done by now. May we consider the great things we can still conquer and achieve before our earthly time is up. Let us not dwell on the negatives or the ‘what if’s’ but focus on the ‘I will’s’ and ‘I can’s’. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: October 6-12, 2025

10/5/2025

October 6, 2025
And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3)
Loving and Comforting God, on this World Day of Bullying Prevention, help us to encourage all people into good ways of being. May we all be willing to learn and grow and change as our understanding of the world and human nature does. Grant us strength to ask forgiveness, grace when seeking change, and perseverance when addressing bullies. May we all want to learn more about how to be with one another for the health and peace of us all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 7, 2025
God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. His splendour was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. (Habakkuk 3:3-4)
Creating God, today we celebrate “You Matter to Me” day. May we take time to email, text, call, or write someone to let them know just that. May we think about the person or people we couldn’t live without and tell them how much it means to have them in our lives. For our busiest folks, grant us a time to make this a priority. This little act can change someone’s life, especially if they are feeling lost or alone. Help us to love one another in the ways you call us to. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 8, 2025
“Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.” (Zechariah 2:11)
Today, O God, we pray for our friends who live with Dyslexia. Though some might think of it as a learning disorder, others might consider it an opportunity to be creative and grow in a different way. We give thanks for the diversity of everyone around us, and I pray that we have grace and kindness to work alongside and encourage all our friends, regardless of ability or disability. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 9, 2025
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all the peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen (Revelation 1:7)
God of all words, today is Harry Potter Book Day. For those who love the series, may we dive into one of our favourites and read it again. For those who love other books, may we find something new to read and to escape the world around us as we live into our imaginations. For the budding authors in our midst, may we encourage them to write so that we can enjoy their creation. May we celebrate the words – whether we read them or listen to them – and the worlds created within them.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 10, 2025
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. (Psalms 19:1)
Loving God, today is World Homelessness Day. The statistics are staggering as more people around the world are without a place to call their own. As we get into our coldest season, help us to see each other and to check in on one another. May we support the organizations that provide food and shelter to those in greatest need, and to actively seek and share ideas of how to make systemic changes. We pray for a world where everyone has basic needs, dignity, and respect. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 11, 2025
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” (Job 38:4-7)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families, and though we pray for all children and families today, we think especially of those in Armenia. They celebrate Yerevan Day with events, music, food, and dancing. They celebrate their resilience and renewal for a city that has stood the test of time. May we all carry a little celebration in our hearts today, encouraging us to play and to enjoy where and who we are and what we have in life. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 12, 2025
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:2-3)
Creating God, today we pray for and thank farmers. It is work that not everyone can do. We thank you for their adaptability to technology and change, for their advocacy for quality, and their willingness to take risks with seasons, animals, and mother nature. Grant them peace, O God. Grant them rest. Grant them the knowledge that they are also heroes in our lives.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: September 29 - October 5, 2025

9/28/2025

September 29, 2025
Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. (Proverbs 12:25)
Creating God, today is World Heart Day and we think of all of our brothers and sisters who live with heart disease and such. Help us to be intentional about keeping our hearts strong so we can make memories with our loved ones and changes in the world. For those needing a heart transplant, may we consider leaving our precious organs available for someone else when our earthly days are done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 30, 2025
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:18-19)
God, today we recognize that it’s the 10th year since the Truth & Reconciliation Report came out. We give thanks for the hard work of the Commission, for the bravery of survivors to share their stories, and to the many who seek justice and peace. Help us to continue learning and guide us in the path ahead. May we find tangible ways to earn back trust, to understand each other, and to move forward with sincerity and empathy.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 1, 2025
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Luke 6:35)
Loving and Inspiring God, today we’re starting a new prayer tradition, where we pray for truth and reconciliation within our relationships with Indigenous Communities (monthly, on the 1st day). My prayer is that it sets an intention, so we don’t forget the covenant we made recently. That covenant calls us to do and be something more than land acknowledgers. God, we need your help in this path forward. We need your love and guidance, your mercy and grace as we pave a new path. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 2, 2025
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning,
his command is that you walk in love. (2 John 1:6)
Loving God, we pray that our walk with you is sincere and authentic. We pray that you hear us in our joys and sorrows. We pray that you help us to be who you believe us to be each and every day. Where we falter, pick us up and push us forward. Where we make you proud, may we feel peace and satisfaction in our hearts. Help us, O God, to be kind, patient, and empathetic in a world where we tear each other down to get ahead. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 3, 2025
For the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life. Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered. (Proverbs 22:23-24)
Comforting God, we celebrate the simplest of things in the world – a smile. We may be tired, or angry, or sad at times, but when someone smiles in an authentic way, it can change us. May we share a smile with anyone who comes our way, and take every opportunity we can to share a little light with others. God, help us to be grace in our world today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 4, 2025
“So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had peace forty years. (Judges 5:31)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families, and today we include our pets. God, thank you for all who surround us, who care for us, who tend to us, and who love us. We give thanks for everyone in our lives, regardless of age and relationship, who help us to be our best. Be with our families, O God, and may they have time for church so we can surround them with community. Be our hope and our grace all our days.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

October 5, 2025
These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts. (Zechariah 8:16)
O Holy One, thank you for the gift of church and community, especially on Sundays. We pray we our worship today is delightful to You. Be in us as we celebrate Worldwide Communion and think about the variety of cultures, demographics, races, genders, belief systems, ways of living, and how many people are Your children in this world. God, keep us humble and full of wonder. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: September 22 to 28, 2025

9/21/2025

September 22, 2025
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian? Paul replied, “Short time or long – I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.” (Acts 26:28-29)
Creating God, we don’t pray for Mondays often, and so we take time to honour the traditional start to the week and the grumbling we may bring into it. I recognize it could mean that more expectations, less sleep, more chaos, less fun, and more. I give thanks for the hours we are given in our days and the things we get to do. For the things we grumble about, be with us, O God. We are Your perfectly imperfectly children. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 23, 2025
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3:25-26)
Holy God, for our friends who are living with a chronic condition like pain or addiction or terminal illness or disease, be with them. I pray that we are empathetic people who surround them and offer connection and maybe even a reprieve in the dark times. May we offer more than thoughts and prayers, and be an ear to listen for venting, to hear their journey, to understand their condition, and to walk the talk of our faith. May we never diminish or lessen their experience.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 24, 2025
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3)
God, we thank you for being with us through all the stages and ages of life. We give thanks for the vibrancy and energy of youth and the permission to slow down through the years. We pray that our community respects the diversity of all ages in our midst and what treasures lie within it. Thank you for folks who take risks to bring all ages together, to encourage young folks to see what we see in them, and to encouraging folks of all ages to love and serve boldly. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 25, 2025
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
Loving God, the 25th of the month is set aside to think about those who are grieving and those who have died. We think of those who have left and were blessed with hospice care. We think of those who have died tragically in car accidents. We think of those whose cancer took over their bodies. For all the ways in which our loved ones have passed away, bless their souls and may they watch over us. And we give honour, grace, and hugs to those who miss them dearly. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Encouraging God, today we are called to be brave. May we take up an opportunity that comes our way and try something new. May we speak out for justice, help a stranger, or something else that may be outside our comfort zone. Help us to go beyond ourselves and who we think we are, to experience something new and maybe discover who You think we are. God, thank you for your unending love and hope in us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 27, 2025
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. Today is family health and fitness day and we pray everyone is taking care of their health and overall wellness. May families find ways to bond and explore the world in ways that will help keep their bodies strong. May their souls and spirit within be encouraged by the beauty of the world around us and in the hope that comes from you. May we pay attention to the needs of families today and see where we can be of service. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 28, 2025
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)
Today is Good Neighbour Day. God, we pray for our neighbourhoods and all who live within them. We pray for the homeless who call our areas home too. We pray that we can get along and, that when we can’t, we can find a resolve so we can still enjoy living near one another. Help our municipalities create opportunities to meet and greet so that we may all work together to create good neighbourhoods to live in, to play in, to heal in, and to grow in. And God, remind us when we’re being selfish, that the world is bigger than our home. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: September 15 to 21, 2025

9/7/2025

September 15, 2025
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:13-14)
Creating God, today is Family and Community Day and we pray for everyone in our areas. We pray for connections, bonding, respect, and dignity for everyone, regardless of race, culture, creed, ability, and status. We pray that we can come together to define some norms for each other – like moving from ‘each man for himself’ to ‘my community has my back’. Help us to help each other, to teach each other how to be kind and graceful, forgiving and stronger. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 16, 2025
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Prepared God, as Autumn approaches we think of all that could happen in the colder season in our area. Today is Preparedness Day where we check on our emergency supplies and make note of and purchase things that may need replenishing. We also pray, O God, for a grant and process we put in, not only to be more energy efficient but also in helping our community when there are hydro outages. God, help us to always think beyond ourselves and to think of others as we review our supplies. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 17, 2025
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:25-26)
Compassionate and Forgiving God, today is “giving it up” day, where we let go of something in our hearts, forgive ourselves or someone else, and help each other to keep moving forward. Where there is something exceptionally tough to address, be in us. Even if it’s something we can think about today, to deal with another day, set it in our hearts to ponder and work on. May our hearts be filled with love and mercy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 18, 2025
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves,  it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)
Loving God, we pray for a little respect on this National Respect Day. But, more importantly, we pray for all people to have respect. We know that respect is earned and not just freely given, so help us to live in ways that easily earn the respect of others so that we can do amazing things in our world – as individuals and as a community. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 19, 2025
For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:32)
God of all working people, today we pray for our Tradespeople. We give thanks for their work, their skills, and their passion for what they do to create the world and the beauty we live within. For carpenters, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, masons and roofers, painters and welders, cooks and hairstylists, millwrights and transportation workers, construction workers, HVAC and more. Thank you for their skills to build, create, and repair. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 20, 2025
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalms 16:11)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. We pray for the love and friendships shared. We pray for new friendships to emerge. We pray that neighbours get to know each other well and that neighbourhoods are safe places for all. May all have access to playgrounds, toys, and imaginations that can help the littles connect in fun ways. God, may they keep their innocence for a long time. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 21, 2025
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
Today is World Gratitude Day, so we give thanks, O God. We give thanks for all that exists around us. We give thanks for communities and churches, for professionals who care for us and our assets. We give thanks for art and music, for poetry and novels, for tv and the entertainment industry. We give thanks for technology so that we can be part of our church community even if/when we can’t be together in person. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: September 8 to September 14

9/6/2025

September 8, 2025
This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labour under the sun during the few days of life God has given them – for this is their lot. (Ecclesiastes 5:18)
Creating God, we give thanks for communication tools in our lives. As we recognize Literacy Day, we honour and celebrate those who teach others to read and to write. We give thanks for the things we create and absorb because of literacy. May we use these skills for good, advancing our world in compassionate and caring ways, rather than tearing each other down. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 9, 2025
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalms 127:1)
Advocating God, today we pray for those who have been falsely accused of wrongdoings. We pray for those who have been imprisoned or through a court process because of an accusation. May we remember that accusations can ruin lives, even if we don’t think so. Help us to teach each other how to be together, how to do conflict in healthy ways and how to separate emotion from situations. God, may Your justice always prevail. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 10, 2025
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23)
God, we focus on Suicide Prevention this month and ask you to be in our souls as we may hear heartbreaking stories. For those who are struggling deep in the darkness, we pray that they can give us a cue that they need us. Remind us that we cannot save the world, but we can be present in the moment and help to connect resources. May our friends who are vulnerable in this moment know that we can help when they feel defeated. Grant us the gift of a listening ear and a hopeful presence. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 11, 2025
We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:3)
Loving God, many of us remember the events of 911 that happened 24 years ago today. We pray today that our day is filled with no bad news. We pray that our world is safe from fear and war and terrorism. We pray for hope and peace and harmony. I pray that racism and discrimination are eradicated by our interest to understand and respect one another. I pray for an end to extremism so that we can live within whatever norms of society can work for us. God, be with us in our changing world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 12, 2025
You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours. (Psalms 128:2)
Comforting God, today is Stand Up to Cancer Day and we pray for all who have Cancer. We pray for researchers and doctors, specialists and surgeons who are saving lives and eradicating cancer from some bodies. We pray that cancer can be stopped in our lifetime. For those new to a journey with cancer, we pray that they are comfortable and have the care needed. We pray everyone knows we are there for them, in the unique ways we can be, and that we can share our light and love along the way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 13, 2025
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule:
“The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families and today is Positive Thinking Day. God, grant us hearts and minds that can direct our young folks in positive ways. May we not be naïve, but hopeful that they’re on good paths and doing good things. And if not, that they will learn something good from what they’re up to. Keep children and families safe from harm, joyful in Spirit, and loving in heart. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 14, 2025
Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. (Jude 1:21)
Today is National Colouring Day and we pray that all the colours in the world are available to all who want to partake in the activity. As we gather for worship, remind us that the church is a colouring book and that those who come in the doors are different colours, and together, we create a piece of art by being together. In our singing and praying, hear the colours of our souls pouring out our worship for you, O God. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

365 Days of Prayer: September 1 to September 7, 2025

8/15/2025

September 1, 2025
Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favour in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king. (Nehemiah 1:11)
Creating God, on this World Letter Writing Day, help us to put pen to paper and send someone we love a random note just to say hello. Where we mostly find flyers and bills, let’s surprise someone with a little sunshine in the mail today. God, be with our mail carriers and service too as it’s great to communicate in various ways.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 2, 2025
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)
God, on this Telephone Tuesday, encourage us to pick up the phone and call someone we haven’t spoken to in a while. We pray the conversation goes well and laughter is shared. Help us to be mindful of what it means to hear a voice on the other end of the line, as our lives may be isolated or so busy that we often feel alone. God, be with us as we share and as we call. And be with all those who work for the phone companies and services. May we treasure all the ways we can communicate in our world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 3, 2025
Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as a shield. (Psalms 5:12)
Today we pray for our world and for those looking for new or a change in employment. God, point us in the direction of our calling and may we find work that is life-giving. Remind us that there are unique employment opportunities in churches and in the National Forces. For the entrepreneurs in our midst, may they feel encouraged to share their businesses and services with us so we know who we can call or where we can visit. Help us to be a strong community that helps each other in various ways. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 4, 2025
Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours. (Psalms 128:1-2)
Loving God, today we pray for newspaper carriers. Though this is an area of employment that seems to be diminishing in it’s more commonly known sense, we pray for all who get newspapers to us. We pray for the reporters and the institutions and that they share factual information and stop leading us into extreme news only. Keep us critical of what we read and may we share good news among us. Help us to see hope and beauty in our world. Bless our carriers and keep them safe in their deliveries. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 5, 2025
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? (Matthew 6:26-27)
Comforting God, today we celebrate International Day of Charity and recognize all the work that charities do locally and globally. For churches that are actively offering community programs and support, may we take some extra time to learn about them and to make a financial contribution to encourage them to continue doing what they do. Bless all our charities, their staff and volunteers, and participants and clients in all that they do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 6, 2025
For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ (Revelation 7:17)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families and we think of all the things that have gone on this week as school starts back up. We pray for parents who are now empty-nesters and pray that they can enjoy the change, while preparing for their student to come back home for a visit (and laundry, and food). God, we ask for safety for all our students as they travel back to school. We pray that families can find the support they need. We pray that we can also be involved in being a support for them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

September 7, 2025
“Six days you shall labour, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.” (Exodus 34:21)
Today we pray for those of us in hospital or hospice. We pray that they are receiving the care and compassion they need. We pray for healing and peace, comfort and grace, and love and connection. Be with all the staff in their calling, knowing that we know the work is challenging and we support them in all that they do. God, bless our caregivers and our patients. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
