As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; (Psalms 103:13)
On this blessed day, we pray that everyone has safe drinking water. We pray that it is pure for our bodies and nourishes our soul. Remind us not to take it for granted, and help us to use water wisely. Be in our earth – land, sea, and air – as we live and breathe and work in this world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (Acts 3:6)
God, we pray for the blessings we receive and have in our lives. Thank you for the gifts of people, homes, and animals. Thank you for food and water. Thank you for the challenge of living in an ever-changing world and for helping us to grow and learn together. Help us to keep open minds and to shy away from our judging hearts. May we always work and live and choose love and hope in our world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21)
O Holy One, as we live and breathe and your are in us, help us to sense your presence strongly today. May we not be fearful of what is to come, but embrace the idea of what might be. Where we feel negativity, help us to change our mindset and shift to hope. Where we feel grumbly, may we take a moment to pause and rest so that we can find out where that grumbly part is rooted. God, may we be people who take risks and learn along the way, in a healthy way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. (1 Samuel 2:6-7)
Loving God, today in American history friends around us are celebrating Juneteenth. In celebrating the end of slavery, grant us a little time and space in our day to dive into history and do some new learning into what slavery looked like throughout history. May we openly explore our own family connections to slavery and do all that we can to see a world where all are treated and respected equally. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. (Revelation 3:17)
Today is World Refugee Day and God, we ask you to be with all who are seeking refuge around the world. Folks around me question why we spend a lot of funding on Global Assistance and I pray we make time to learn about the impact on the world if that was to end. We support refugees not only by providing a location for them, but in supporting their countries financially, we support a more stable world, in hopes that everyone can stay home, free and safe from fear and harm. God, we pray that all can feel this way today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. We pray for their safety and wellness, that they have all that they need. For families who are struggling in anyway, may they feel they can reach out to us for prayer and support. May the light you shine within us be a light that draws people in, to let them know we care for them. Help us, O God, to be a stable and supportive part of the bigger family in our community. May we never shy away from helping and serving one another. God, be with families near and far. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Today we gather in church, we will be sharing Communion and a belated Pentecost as Calum is Confirmed. May your spirit be in him and in those around him, sensing the light of God within. May today be a day we all remember our journey of faith and the milestones within it. And may we recommit ourselves to being part of the church here and everywhere, in whatever way that looks like for each of us. Help us, O God, and draw us back into the pews so we can explore our faith in our personal journey into the future. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
