Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands (Psalm 112:1)
Creating God, today we recognize Information Overload Day, living in a world overflowing with voices, screens, news, and endless messages. Calm our anxious minds. Help us to pause and breathe. Remind us to listen for your voice. Help us to discern the truth and what really matters. Give us courage to set the world aside and to enjoy the peace, stillness, and quiet that is around us. Keep us forever focused on you and your love for all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. (Deuteronomy 28:9)
God of all, we celebrate Dwali with our friends and neighbours. As lamps are lit and homes are brightened, we give thanks for the gift of hope that shines in every heart. Erase the darkness of fear, greed, and hatred and fill us with your love, joy, and peace. May this season of Dwali inspire us, reminding us that even the smallest light can overcome great darkness. Guide us to carry your light into our families, our communities, and our world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

And may your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time. (1 Kings 8:61)
Maker of all beautiful things, you have created the sun and the sky and set the heavens in perfect order. As light floods the temple at Abu Simbel today (in Egypt), remind us how your light reaches every corner of creation. Inspire us as we honour the human achievement that has created the temple and how things align just right. Ignite the light in our hearts to scatter the shadows of fear and doubt. As the light aligns to highlight the beauty of the temples, may we be aligned for your purpose and truth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)
Loving God, today we pray for event planners and organizers. Many do these things in our work and in our communities and are often the unsung heroes. We pray that their passion and dedication to doing good work and in creating memorable moments is nurtured and encouraged. May networking and connections continue to grow strong so the work can be easier. We give thanks to all who plan events in the church and pray that all who come our way feel the spirit of hospitality, community, and blessing in all their days. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Comforting God, today is World Development Information Day and we pray for all the challenges experienced around the world. We pray for communities experiencing poverty, inequality, and who can’t access education. We pray for our friends experiencing homelessness and mental health illnesses and who can’t access what they need. We pray for governments with integrity and values, for leaders who are visionaries and risk-takers, and for communities that can see beyond their own needs to help others.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families and on the 25th of each month we pray for those who have died and those who miss them. God, for our families, friends, pets, and relationships, be with us. May we continue to connect and seek one another out to bring meaning into our lives, especially after a loss of any kind. We pray for our children and their families who are missing loved ones, and pray they continue to share memories and lessons learned from those who have passed. God be with us all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)
God of the world, today is Austrian National Day and we celebrate with our brothers and sisters. It’s a day where an Austria adopted the Federal Constitutional Law on the Neutrality of Austria. They decided it won’t be involved in any military alliances and won’t allow any military bases to be established there. They also celebrate their re-establishment of sovereignty after WWII. Help us to learn more about our neighbours and friends and their histories.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
