365 Days of Prayer: March 24 to March 30, 2025

3/26/2025

March 24, 2025
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Luke 19:38)
God of greatness, thank you that someone heard you in the whispers of the Spirit and named today, “National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day.”  For those who did not give up chocolate for Lent, may they enjoy them for the rest of us. We offer our greatest thanks for all the sweet and good things in our lives. May we remain humble and grateful all our days. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15)
On the 25th of each month, we intentionally take time to pray for and remember those who have passed away.  This past month, we named a number of good friends, neighbours, and loved ones who have gone on to the next part of their journey. Be with us who grieve, and with the families who are taking it one day at a time. God, may we always feel our loved ones around us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32)
Gracious God, I love that today is “Make Up Your Own Holiday Day,” and pray that we can all have a little fun with it. So, on this ‘go get a massage and relax day,’ (for me), I pray that all my friends get a little time to restore their souls, to relieve their aches and pains, and just to breathe in the world without the chaos and busyness. Keep us always ready to do your work in our world.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
God, you created us in your image. Some of us have a specific idea what that means while some of us wonder in awe. The world is filled with diversity and continues to transform. We ask you to be in all your people. Today, we celebrate “International Scribble Day” and pray that folks can have a little fun with some pencils and paper and scribble away. May we tap into the youthfulness that remains in our souls and see what emerges. God, help us to enjoy a few moments with you today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. (John 13:14-15)
Loving God, as we journey through Lent in our own special way, may we remember those who are so consumed with surviving that their own Lenten journeys are set aside. Today is “Virtual Advocacy Day” and I pray that we, for those of us who are online, take a moment to share a post about a cause that is meaningful to us. Help us to see one another in our world, to be advocates for basic needs and justice, and to share your light with those living in darkness.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

March 29, 2025
“He himself bore our sins,” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
God, we thank you for the children and youth in our lives. We give thanks for their chaos and craziness, and for the lessons they teach us along the way. Help us to continue to celebrate their presence, to love them up, and to share what it means to do and be good in our world. May we share our faith and faith stories with them. And God, as it is “Pay it Forward Day,” may we encourage them to do something with us to make someone’s day today.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

March 30, 2025
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
God, thank you for being in our lives. I give thanks that someone took the time to share you with us and that we continue to learn to understand what love and community are. Today is “National Neighbour Day” and I pray that we have the courage to connect with a neighbour we might not know so well. Help us to be good neighbours at church today, sharing a warm welcome and some delicious refreshments. Surround us with your grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
