365 Days of Prayer: June 30 to July 6, 2025

7/3/2025

June 30, 2025
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
Today is the last day of the month and a good day to reflect on what we’ve accomplished, what we’ve gained and lost, and what’s next. God, thank you for the hard work of many people that serve our community in various ways. Thank you for the gifts of speaking, administration, music, fellowship, and so much more in our midst. Thank you for the opportunities that come our way and the dreams that are being dreamt. May we be proud of all the things, even in the chaos. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners (Isaiah 61:1)
God, as we celebrate Canada Day today, keep us safe in our travels and in our celebrations. May we intentionally work on what we need to do and who we need to be within Truth & Reconciliation. Be with our leaders and our communities and we pray for unity, solidarity, and harmony. Thanks for giving us the home we call Canada. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. (Psalms 119:45)
Hi God. Thanks for being here for us every day. We give thanks for those who fought for our freedoms and sacrificed their lives for us. We give thanks for all who fight for justice and equity and global harmony. Help us to be an integral part of that, doing the same in our homes, communities, and beyond. May your love shine through us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (Ephesians 3:12)
Loving God, today is St. Thomas Day. It’s a day to remember the one who doubted Jesus’ resurrection but didn’t hesitate to believe when he saw Jesus. Help us to find Jesus in our everyday life – in the beauty that surrounds us in the earth, the people we encounter, the music we hear, or in the playful laughter of children. May we live into the faith that we know, understanding that there is more to the world than we can see and touch. Surround us with your infinite love and divine care. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
God, we pray for our neighbours to the south who are celebrating Independence Day. May they be safe and free of harm today. Grant the nation discernment and wisdom, humility and openness to see what the world is. Help us outsiders remember that we are all children of God, even when we disagree strongly. God, be with us as we strive to live in harmony and be good neighbours to all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

July 5, 2025
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. (Galatians 5:13)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. Fittingly, it is also National Play Outside Day as well as National Hop-A-Park Day. May the weather be good so kids can safely go outside and play. May their imaginations create a world they can escape into and just be. May friends surround them or may they enjoy the peace of solitude. Help us, O God, to have the energy to get out and play with them. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

July 6, 2025
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (Romans 12:9)
Today we worship together online only. Grant us all a little time for rest and restoration as we worship. Be in our long-term care residences who we worship with this afternoon and may the service bring joy to their hearts. Today is Jan Hus Day and we celebrate his leadership in the Reformation of Christianity. He challenged corruption in the church and fought for justice. May we all do so, so that the Word of God and actions as Christians, can be shared in pure and good ways. Keep our leaders on good paths as we journey the path of life together. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
