365 Days of Prayer: July 7 to July 13, 2025

7/5/2025

July 7, 2025
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” (Acts 18:9-10)
God, on this Global Forgiveness Day, we pray for ourselves. Forgive us for the things we do that do not share your joy and love. Forgive us for the pain we caused and maybe the pain we still cause today. Forgive us all our sins and everything that disconnects us from our faith and our relationship with you. Help us to see clearly, to do better, and to live fully. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)
Today we pray for truth. God, we know that Jesus is the truth and the way, but sometimes the truth is unclear in our world. We used to be able to trust the news and the word of those around us, but things get tainted so easily. Help us to research and learn about the things that are happening, and not just from one source. Grant us curious hearts to look at all sides of the story. Give us courage to hold sources accountable when false news is shared. But God, put your truth always and forever in our hearts. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:19-20)
Today, O God, we pray for peace. We pray for harmony around the world and an end to life-ending and life-altering conflict. We pray for peace in our country, especially within political differences. May we always work toward truth & reconciliation of the harms from our past. We pray for peace in our communities, that racism and discrimination become things of the past. And we pray for peace in our homes and within ourselves. Help us to love one another in a special way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! (Amos 5:24)
Loving God, we pray for all who live with chronic illness or disease. We may not understand the level of discomfort they live with or even the sacrifices they have to make just to live as fully as they can. May our humble and curious minds be met with open souls as we ask questions so we can better understand one another. Help us to set aside all the assumptions in our hearts, and all the things we think we know, so that we can be filled with a deeper level of compassion and empathy for one and all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Fixing your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
God, today is Cheer Up the Lonely Day. Nudge us to reach out to folks we don’t see too often and to say hello. Encourage us to write a note, send a text, or dial their number so they don’t feel so lonely today. May our lonely friends know they are not alone. And may we be able to set aside some time in our busy lives to intentionally make time for those we love. God be in all of us as we try to navigate this world that seems to be going at a fast pace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

July 12, 2025
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12:30)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. Today is Etch-A-Sketch day which reminds me of all the fun times we had as children playing with one toy. May we make time for the younger folks around us and share some of our childhood toys with them. Without giving instruction, may we see what they do with them. Grant us the time and space to share stories and make memories together, today and all our days. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
Today we worship together online only in our July Break. And today is Barn Day. I give thanks that we live in an area that is filled with agricultural beauty, including old and new barns. We give thanks for the shelter they provide to animals and the tools stored within. We give thanks for all our farmers and pray for their safety in the fields and for the most perfect weather this season. We give thanks that they continue to do the hard work so that we can all have food on our tables. God be with our farmers. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
