Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
God, today is Global Hug Your Kids Day, and we ask you to help let our kids hug them. May we find a way to connect with the children in our midst that we have strained relationships with, just to let them know we’re thinking of them. May we hug up all the kids that don’t feel love in their homes. May we hug all the ones who are struggling with mental or physical health so they don’t feel alone. And God, wrap your arms around us and give us the biggest hug of encouragement to keep pressing on in this crazy world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalms 27:1)
Today is Spoonerism Day, and God, we pray for all of us who fall into the category – those of us who often have slips of the tongue or being tongue-tied. May we laugh in the moments and treasure the gift of creativity that comes along with every slip of words. May we embrace some new words that we’re discovering. Though we pray that we are eloquent in our speech each day, may we realize that we are only human. Guide us in our words, our mis-steps, and our humour along the way. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. “For he is the living God and endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.” (Daniel 6:26-27)
God of all our grandma’s, today is Gorgeous Grandma Day, and we celebrate all the Grandma’s out there. May they know how beautiful they are inside and/or out. Be in their hearts that they share kindness and love with a generation of children and grandchildren that we may never understand perfectly. May we share stories and memories to treasure all our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25:7-8)
Loving God, today is Self-Care Day and I pray that we can all take a few moments to do something that progresses the betterment of our health overall. Grant us a moment to breathe, or a moment to learn, or a moment to stretch or strengthen, or even a moment of courage to make that phone call to the doctor’s office we’ve been putting off for far too long. Remind us that we are worthy of your love and care and we need to be well so we can take care of others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
God, today we pray for all those who have passed and all those who mourn their passing. Be it recently or a long time ago, love remains in our hearts and memories are strong. As it’s Invisible Illness Day, we pray also for all those who suffer almost silently, in mental or physical health. Grant us all the strength to get up each day, to make and achieve a small goal, and to have the support we need to live out our days well. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!” (Revelation 5:12)
On Saturdays we pray for children and families. As it’s National Cowboy Day, we pray for all our rural folks and those passionate about farming, agricultural work, and cowboy-ing in general. We pray for all the little ones who long to be cowfolk and that they get to have experiences along the way to encourage their interest. Keep all our farming community safe from harm, O God, and may the animals bring joy to all who encounter them. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. (Psalms 30:2)
Today we worship together online only and look forward to being together, in person, next Sunday. God, we pray for grandparents and elders in our lives. May they impart wisdom that surprises us. May they share skills that encourage us. May they give love that sustains us. Be with them in health and strength and may we be intentional on providing what they need when asked. God, be with us all. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
