Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. (Psalm 34:8)
Loving God, our world really needs some direction and love. We pray that clarity and discernment. We pray that sensibility and compassion come to the forefront of what we do and who we are. We pray for healing for the earth, for communities and the world. Be in our leaders and all who make decisions on our behalf. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.” (Joshua 10:25)
Liberating God, we think of all who lived through experiences at Auschwitz and give thanks for this Liberation Day. We pray that the stories of our past are learned from and not relived. We pray for dignity, compassion, and respect for all human life. We pray for understanding and an appreciation for diversity. God, we long for your hope to be seen in the news. We love for you light to shine in all hearts. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I want to know Christ – yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:10-11)
Creating God, today is LEGO Day and I pray we have permission to get those little pieces out and create something. Spark within us good childhood memories, creativity, and connection. We give thanks for the innovation that went and continues to go into LEGO and the many sets we can invest in. Thank you for such a simple tool to do so much learning with. God, may we find out how our lives fit within your world as we learn and grow. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)
God who frees us, grant us openness on this Freethinkers Day. Help us to find things to struggle with, so we can grow and learn each day. We pray that your Spirit finds home in our hearts, minds, and souls. We need you to rest deep within so we can be rooted in your light and love, being compassionate and critical in our world. Help us to never become complacent and to always seek justice. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2)
God of recreation and balance, today is National Escape Day and we pray that we can escape the realities of the world for but a few moments for play. Be present in our Family Night tonight and pray that everyone is excited to participate in everything. We pray for those who may be tired, that they have the energy to make it out so we can infuse them with our extra energy to get through the night. Help us, O God, to be present with each other in good and meaningful ways. May the young people see us in your beautiful light. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
We pray for children and families on Saturdays.
Parenting God, today is about using art to inspire our hearts, and so we pray that the many forms of art are used to express ourselves today. May we use it when it’s hard to come up with words. May we share our love of art with each other, and to treasure crafts made for years to come. We pray that families can create art together, creating and sustaining a unique bond in a special way. But God, for our families who are no longer together, we pray that they feel connected and supported, no matter what. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” But you, Lord, are a shield around me,my glory, the One who lifts my head high. (Psalm 3:2-3)
On the first day of the month, we pray for Truth & Reconciliation.
Rising God, today is National Get Up Day, where we encourage each other to rise and get things done. I wonder what we can do in our church and our community to continue the work of Truth & Reconciliation. For now, I pray you direct our hearts to do what we should be doing. I pray for an end to stereo-typing, racism, inequity, and inaccurate story-telling. I pray we are continuously curious to learn truths so we can live with a deeper sense of compassion and empathy for all. God be with us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
