God, some of us dislike Mondays. Today, help us be grateful that we get another Monday to do your work and to share your love in this world. Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day and I pray that everyone in our midst does something to bring a smile to the lives of others. God, remind us to be kind to ourselves as well. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Progressive God, we give thanks for all who have created things to make our lives easier over the course of history. We give thanks for our modes of transportation, for heat and electricity, for running water, and for ways to stay in touch in the moment. Thank you for those who are advancing research in diseases that have been with us for far too long. Grant us your grace in trying something new, in helping others to make their lives a little easier, and to find ways to make folks smile. In the name of your greatest Love, Jesus. Amen.

God of greatness, as we get closer to an election, we ask you to be in our hearts and minds as we seek out each party’s platform. May we be critical in our thinking and wondering, and bold enough to ask questions. Help us to be mindful of people that are unlike ourselves and that all may be served well. May you be in our hearts as we consider our future leaders. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Thank you, God, for this day. Today we celebrate pets and all the animals around the world. We give thanks to zoos that offer us opportunities to see animals we may never see otherwise. We give thanks for pet rescues that save animals from precarious situations and who rehabilitate them to have better lives. Help us to appreciate the non-humans around us. May we appreciate the birds singing, the bunnies hopping, or the dogs playing in the snow. May we see you in their eyes. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Comforting God, today we give thanks for the caregivers in our lives. Thank you for our parents and our children, for our doctors and nurses and all the specialists that listen to and attend to our needs. Help us to be kind and always thankful for all that they do. May our systems continue to adapt to the rising advocacy they do for us when we are not quite ourselves. Renew and restore them for the continuing work ahead. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

God of thought and wonder, we give thanks for World Thinking Day today. Thank you to our Lord Baden-Powell and his wife Olave who founded the scout and guide movement around the world. We give thanks for the experiences, learnings, and relationships fostered through Scouting and Guiding. May we continue to support organizations that encourage youth to learn and grow all around the world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Holy God, we pray for a boring weather day. As we worship and weave in our Annual General Meeting, be in us and around us as we do your work in the world. Remind us that we are just here for a time, and you need us to do important things to help one another. May we be risk-takers and engineers in what church looks like in the present and beyond. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
